I’m from Florida and came over to Cozumel on a cruise, and my only real goal was to try authentic Mexican food as I can’t get it in the states. It was easily the best taco I have ever had, as well as the best guacamole and tortilla chips. The servers were kind and attentive, and had character. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really what pulls it together. Even from outside the place you see all the greenery they have inside, the inside of the restaurant is perfectly designed for all ages. A meal for four came out under $150 USD including a 25% tip. I would recommend getting the guacamole for sure and if you are eating for lunch the beef taco was absolutely amazing, I will never be able to eat a taco in the states again 🤣.

I’ve learned why La Mission was so great on my first visit to Cozumel. As one of the islands oldest restaurants, they definitely perfected everything that comes to your table. Conveniently located off the main stream near the port, you’ll find their classic food models right as you enter the restaurant. When you sit, you’re given this awesome menu titled “if you don’t like it, you don’t pay it” along with peso and dollar pricing side by side with translations of all dishes. After reading through, you find yourself wanting dishes you never had before. Drinks were also just as good as the food and even saw they had their own branded water which was pretty cool. Pictured is the lime soup which is the house special. It was absolutely delicious after having some tortilla chips and salsa. Followed by the queso fundido which was perfect served with fresh flour tortillas. Our entrees were the surf & turf and the lobster. Both were phenomenal. The steak was cooked medium and the lobster port...

Party of 6. Complementary chips and salsa. Next came complementary chicken and lime soup with garlic bread. $17 is for the mexican plate. Included quesadilla, relleno, tamale, fajita, tostada & enchilada. Shrimp burrito tasted more like a lobster burrito. Mixed ceviche (fish and shrimp) was excellent. AND those margaritas were devine. (They might make their own tequila.) Beautiful garden setting. The restaurant was a former hacienda. 2.5 miles from the cruise port. Highly recommend!
